About Us

Shani is the founder of Holistic Attachment Services (HAS). She is a warm, empathetic and compassionate therapist who believes therapist-client collaboration is an important ingredient that nurtures a safe relationship and aids client change. She is passionate about delivering ethical and high-quality therapy which is tailored to the client's needs. Shani always takes a holistic approach to first understand the life journey of the client so that their reality & lived experience is not minimised. Her training in various therapeutic models has provided Shani with the knowledge and skills to do this successfully.

A key area of her work is centred around attachment and trauma-focused practice to help individuals come to terms with difficult early childhood experiences and traumas that they have endured throughout adulthood. Shani also has a special interest in working with clients with ASD, ADHD and neurodevelopmental difficulties.

Shani is an experienced independent social worker with 15 years of experience of working within the NHS and social sector in various roles including mental health mentoring, statutory social work, youth work, domestic abuse project work, teenage parent support and homeless families support. She has spent the last three years working therapeutically with clients, providing individual and family therapy.

Shani is the former chair of the DDPi racial equity social justice committee, which explores the impact of unconscious biases and other forms of oppression innate in DDP practices and how these can be rectified.

She is also a trainer and speaker; available to help organisations with their training needs, service development and/or direct work with young people and families.
