Family Therapy

Our passion and aim is for children and young people to feel loved, valued, worthy and confident in order to enjoy a trusting relationship with their primary caregiver. Some children/young people may have experienced trauma such as abuse, neglect, loss, and disrupted attachment at different stages in their lives which may have impacted their ability to develop self-confidence and a strong sense of identity.

We support various family structures and types to promote synchronisation and healthier interconnecting relationships. We incorporate the principles of PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy) to improve open verbal and non-verbal communication. We believe in the importance of nurturing attachments, encouraging connection, trust and joy to create safety in the parent/carer-child relationship.

Our approach includes talking strategies, creative arts and therapeutic play. The purpose of this holistic approach is to bring healing to children by supporting them to connect with their unconscious emotions while working with the presenting thoughts, behaviours and responses.

The services available include:

  • Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) informed therapy

  • Theraplay® principles (using the MIM assessment)

  • Therapeutic parenting support

  • Creative arts
