Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

We provide Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for adults aged 18 and over who are experiencing anxiety and depression. We support clients to understand their reality by making sense of early experiences and possible triggers, and using evidence-based tools and techniques to alter the way they think, feel and behave. This helps clients to develop a new healthier lens to view their life through.

CBT is an evidence-based therapy with excellent recovery rates. The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) recommends CBT as the first-line treatment for mental health difficulties.

CBT is a short-term therapy that usually takes place over six to 20 sessions. Therapy occurs weekly throughout the duration of our work together. Towards the end of treatment, the frequency of the sessions may increase to fortnightly (depending on progress).

Therapy starts with an initial 90-minute assessment session; most subsequent therapy sessions last for up to 60 minutes. However, for certain conditions longer sessions (up to 90 minutes) may be required.
